Unpredictable Dinner
With a regular 9-5, you can plan out dinner pretty easily. You know about when you or your spouse should be home, and can set the table accordingly. On the farm, dinner can be anywhere from 5pm to 10pm, depending on how the day went. If an animal gets sick, or crops take longer to harvest, dinner may be the last thing on your mind.
Interesting “wildlife”
Get ready for bugs; lots of them. After some time, they start becoming cute little friends that you might find in your pockets after a long day. Other “wildlife” include animal poops, and if you have children, well…there’ll be another post for that.
Farm Talk
Since your life revolves around the farm, don’t expect too much talk outside of this topic. You won’t have much time to keep up with celebrity gossip or tv shows, so this will become second nature to you.
Appreciation
The biggest gift of marrying into a farm is an appreciation for all things natural. From the sun waking you up in the morning, to the moon tucking you in at night, it’s a magical things to be a part of something so special as sowing the earth and reaping its fantastic rewards.
